Polls say that most of us are Christians and that
most of us don’t go to church. Do those polls
describe your situation? Then use this time of
revival to renew your relationship with Jesus Christ.
If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Lord and
Savior, then use this time of revival to meet Him.
We don’t like to talk about sin, but ignoring it
does not make it go away. The Bible says if we
repent and turn to God, then our sins are wiped
away and our times will be refreshed by having
the Lord’s presence in our lives. (Acts 3:19.)
Repent means more than feeling sorry for sin;
it means deciding to turn away from sin and
turning towards God. Use this time of revival to
strengthen your resolve and, if you wish, to share
your decision. The 23rd Psalm proclaims that I shall not want for
anything because the Lord is my shepherd. “He makes
me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet
waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” (Psalm 23:2-3.) Is
your soul yearning to be restored? Have your pastures
been less than green? Is your life being bounced around
in stormy waters? Use this time of revival to restore your
soul, to rediscover your place in God’s kingdom, and to
calm the storms of your life.
Stay. Once you have rediscovered the peace and joy
that come from living in God’s love, stay there. And if
you have questions at the end of the revival meeting,
stay here, our pastors and church members will be
happy to talk with you and help you find the answers
you’re looking for. It’s easy to get lost and distracted, so it’s
important to return to God often.
- Return to Him through prayer. We may be
too busy to talk to Him, but He’s never to busy
to listen.
- Return to Him by reading the Bible. It’s
God’s Word and He will speak to you through it
if you let Him.
- Return to His family. God made us for
fellowship with Him and with each other. If
you are not an active member of a church
family, then ask God to direct you to one. If
He’s directing you to First Baptist Church of
Wellington, we’d be happy to have you join our
family.
